Main Events
Georgetown Geeks & Gamers rely on Volunteers to help make our main events a success. We are looking for volunteers to help run events and promote the group in Georgetown and beyond. Since 2010, we have organized many successful events at various local venues. If you've enjoyed attending our events, why not become part of the team? Volunteer Requirements:
We're looking for volunteers of all ages and backgrounds, who can help out at our main events which mostly take place on weekends. Knowledge & experience in our interests (Sci-Fi, Fantasy, RPG, Gaming, Anime) would be great, too.
What are the tasks?
We usually meet a half hour before the event to set up, prepare event materials and refreshments, put up signs, etc. During the event, we need someone to welcome attendees, answer questions, and help out with the event running.
What are the benefits?
It's a fun and rewarding experience as you get to learn new skills or interests and pass your knowledge on to others. You'll meet like minded Geeks, make friends and build up a network of people from all backgrounds who share a common passion.
What happens if I sign up?
We'll send you information about upcoming events a few weeks in advance and you can let us know whether you'd like to help out. Don't worry if you can't make it - we only need a few helpers every time, so just pick the events that you're most comfortable with.
